Married On Island is a locally curated guide and vendor directory made just for Galveston Island weddings. We feature real weddings, proposals, local vendors, and planning tips - all focused exclusively on island events. No franchises, no filler - just island vibes and local love.

Are all the vendors local to Galveston?

Many of our vendors are BOI (Born On Island) or IBC (Islander By Choice), but what truly matters is that they work regularly on Galveston Island and understand what it takes to create a wedding here. Everyone listed is vetted for experience, professionalism, and island knowledge.

Can I use this site if I’m not from Galveston?

Absolutely! Whether you live here, are planning a destination wedding, or fell in love with Galveston on vacation, this guide is for any couple planning to get married on island.

Do you only feature beach weddings?

Not at all! Galveston has a variety of stunning venues - from historic mansions and museums to gardens, chapels, and cozy courtyards. While beach weddings are popular, our focus is on any wedding that happens on Galveston Island.

Is this the same as The Knot or WeddingWire?

Nope - and we like it that way. Married On Island is independently created and locally run. We’re not part of a national franchise. Our goal is to support the Galveston wedding community and give couples real connections to vendors who actually work here.

How are vendors selected?

All vendors on our site:

• Have experience working on Galveston Island

• Are vetted for quality, professionalism, and communication

• Have submitted real event photos that reflect their work on the island

We don’t accept random submissions from outside markets.

Can I submit my wedding to be featured?

Yes! We love sharing real love stories. If you got engaged, married, or eloped on Galveston Island - or if you’re a photographer or planner who worked an island wedding - we want to see it. Head over to our Submit Your Wedding page for details.

I’m planning a DIY wedding. Is this site still for me?

Absolutely. We support all planning styles - DIY, partial planning, full-service planning, elopements, and intimate gatherings. You’ll find guides, vendor referrals, and tips to help you pull it off beautifully (and with as little stress as possible).

What if I already hired a planner or vendors from off island?

That’s totally okay - we’re just here to help you connect with the island-specific resources you may not have found yet. Think of us as your inside scoop on the local scene.

Do you host any events or expos?

Yes! We host the Galveston Bridal Expo - a Galveston-based vendor showcase that’s fun, approachable, and all about celebrating local wedding talent. Follow us on Instagram or subscribe to our newsletter for upcoming updates.

Do you offer planning services?

Nope - we’re not planners. But many of the amazing vendors listed here are! If you need a coordinator or planner, check out our Wedding Planners section for trusted professionals.

Why don’t you feature weddings from Houston or nearby cities?

We love our Houston neighbors, but Married On Island was created to highlight only weddings and vendors connected to Galveston Island. It’s about keeping the spotlight on our island community and helping couples who truly want to get married here.
