Kaila + Jesús

Like many island love stories, Kaila and Jesús first met through mutual friends in Galveston. Kaila was living and working on the island while Jesús, a proud BOI (Born on the Island), was back home visiting. What started with a lunch outing among friends quickly turned into something more, and after a few Instagram messages, the pair began a relationship that would eventually lead them back to Galveston to celebrate their wedding day.

Their rustic coastal celebration with a touch of Tex-Mex flair was filled with meaningful local connections. As the first couple ever to marry at The Artisan, they made a little Galveston wedding history. Kaila's father officiated the ceremony, while longtime family friends from Bambu served dinner before joining guests on the dance floor later in the evening. A homemade wedding cake created by a close family friend added another personal touch. The couple also embraced the island experience by sharing their favorite local restaurants, bars, and activities with out-of-town guests, creating a wedding weekend that felt authentically Galveston from beginning to end.
